Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Aït Ben Haddou – Dadès Valley
Departure at 7:30. Crossing of the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260m). Visit to the Aït Ben Haddou kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Free lunch in Ouarzazate. Continue through the Rose Valley to the Dadès Valley. Dinner and overnight in a hotel/riad in the valley.
Day 2: Dadès Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
After breakfast, depart for the impressive Todra Gorges. Walk through the canyons. Continue to Erfoud and Rissani. Arrival in Merzouga. Late afternoon camel ride in the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spectacular sunset. Dinner and overnight in a Berber camp in the heart of the desert with traditional music.
Day 3: Exploration of the Merzouga desert
Sunrise. Breakfast. Day dedicated to exploration: visit to Khamlia (Gnawi musicians), meeting nomads, walk in the dunes. Free lunch. Second night in camp or hotel at the foot of the dunes.
Day 4: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Return to Ouarzazate. Short visit to Taourirt kasbah (optional). Free lunch. Return to Marrakech via the High Atlas. Arrival around 19:00-20:00.
